Alberto Serino (Naples, 1970) obtained his law degree cum laude from the University of Naples 'Federico II' in March 1993. Thanks to a scholarship awarded by that University he studied various topics on maritime law at the School of Law of the University of Cardiff (Wales, U.K.). He had thereafter a short pupillage at Brick Court Chambers in their annexe of Brussels (Belgium) before being admitted to the Naples Bar in 1997. In the same year he joined Studi Legali Consociati and became partner in 1999.
Alberto is involved in international marine litigation including charterparty and bill of lading disputes, arrest of ships, P&I and FD&D work. His litigation practise covers, however, a broad variety of disputes with a particular emphasis on insurance and commodity cases as well as on issues relating to freight forwarding, carriage of goods by road, ship agency, pilotage. He has represented many foreign clients before Italian courts in relation to applications for recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards and Court decisions. In the course of his professional career he has written opinions to clients on various Italian legal topics that were filed and used with success in foreign judicial proceedings.
He works mainly in the Naples office although he moves on regular basis to the other three offices of Studi Legali Consociati based in Milan, Ravenna and Genoa where he is member of Genoa Chambers.
He is married and has twins, a boy and a girl.
