Giancarlo Porzio  was born in Naples, Italy, on 6th November 1967. Graduated from Naples University Federico II in 1993 - Degree in Law (110/110) discussing a thesis in Maritime Law on "Voyage Charterparty - Contractual and statutory discipline". After a training period of 10 months as visiting foreign lawyer at the City of London Solicitors' firm Middleton Potts and another training period of 1 month at the legal department of a major P&I Club, in 1993 he joined Studio Luigi Porzio, member of Studi Legali Consociati, becoming a junior partner of the firm in 1995.
He specialises in Maritime Law (litigation and non litigation involving contractual disputes on charterparties/bills of lading, marine insurance, ship sale/purchase, shipbuilding contracts, personal injuries claims, crewmembers' claims, collisions) as well as in general Commercial and Civil Law also in respect of international trading and transactions (commodities' international contract of sale, enforcement of foreign judgements/arbitration awards).
He concentrates his activity in the Naples and Ravenna offices but, on regular basis, he also attends at the firm's offices in Genoa and Milan.
