Owners’ limitation of liability
Italy has not ratified any of the international Conventions in the matter of limitation of liability. Furthermore the Italian code of navigation contains special rules of procedure for the establishment of the limitation fund and the distribution of the same among claimants. The lawyers of Genoa Chambers have a specific expertise on this matter and they are in a position to assist the Owners and their P and I Clubs in constituting the limitation fund as well as claimants in filing their claims into the limitation procedure.
